Who We Are
Over 15 years experience in pharmaceuticals
Mission Statement & History
EUR-AFRIPHARM.CO.LTD has been established since 2004 by Jason Fenech, Kevin Fenech both pharmacists graduated at the University of Malta in 1996 and John
Bugeja, pharmacy technician since 1990. Both Jason and Kevin Fenech have attained a vast experience in community pharmacy and medical representation
in the pharmacy and medical fields for more than 20 years. Mr.John Bugeja, having been also managing director of another company which has been in
operation since 1944 has gained great hands-on experience in business management.
Such a diversity in expertise instigated the idea to join forces and form a company with a close knit teamwork and vast experience in these professional
lines. This has offered them the opportunity to understand the needs of the customer, and the importance of maintaining the best standards in offering the
best service to our clients.
Eur-AfriPharm.Co.Ltd. has been established to represent and market herbal, medical devices, pharmaceutical and parapharmaceutical items and related
products within the community pharmacy and hospital settings.
We believe in quality not quantity and choose companies wisely, mainly from mainland Europe in order to represent and establish them both
locally and in other emerging markets.
Our first and successful venture with PhytoGarda, a company originating from northern Italy and specialising in herbal products, has seen their products
being sold throughout all the community pharmacies in the Maltese territory. As both companies are working closely together, Eur-AfriPharm is always expanding
their portfolio and creating market demand on a national level.
PhytoGarda has now been established as a household brand since 2008, with almost 50 products launched to date. Sales have increased on a yearly basis by
around 5-10% lately, with an almost double the value from 2010 to 2011 and from 2011 to 2012.
Eur-Afripharm, has been in fact the first export opportunity for PhytoGarda, putting Malta as their inceptive market towards export expansion to around
7 other export markets in 7 years. In relation to this, Eur-AfriPharm has been looking towards other foreign markets, in fact it has been appointed exclusive
representative for PhytoGarda in Libya and Cyprus.
Eur-AfriPharm has also been exclusively representing and distributing in-vitro diagnostic tests mainly ovulation and pregnancy tests manufactured by
Turklabs Inc., a Turkish company, for more than 5 years. We have managed to market this brand as one of the leading providers of pregnancy and ovulation
kits on the Maltese market.
As a result of another close collaboration with another northern Italian company, namely Sakura srl, Eur-AfriPharm has also launched other medical devices
within a couple of years, putting itself as one of the leading established brands, covering wound healing, upper respiratory tract and intimate hygiene products.
We already increased purchases by 20% from 2014 to 2015 from this Italian company, trying to maintain the same pace for years to come.
Marketing has always been one of our main basic tools in implementing our objectives. The PhytoGarda brand has been reaping potential growth through
advertising on public media, such as national broadcasting radio stations, magazines, electronic social media and merchandising material in pharmacies,
especially considerable distribution of samples strengthened by several showcasing in pharmacies. A considerable percentage of the budget on advertising
costs has been invested in this regard.
This line of marketing has always been backed up along these years by medical detailing to health care professionals such as doctors, consultants and
pharmacists through concerted efforts from the own directors Jason and Kevin Fenech.
Our sales department, consists of a sales representative, who collects orders and meets other clients’ requirements on a daily basis. Meanwhile, our sales
and administrative office has always been manned by Mr.John Bugeja, whereas distribution has always been trusted to third
parties specialised in this line of field.
Since inception, Eur-AfriPharm has always endeavoured to establish itself as one of the main players in representation and distribution
of various pharmacy and hospital lines. Motivation and a strong initiative have always been the main contributing factors to our vision towards a
stronger position on both the local and international markets.
In line with this initiative, motivated by repeated requests from foreign clients and built upon more than 10 years experience in the parapharmaceutical,
herbal and supplements sector, the company is also planning towards possible expansion to the pharmaceutical medical business through acquisition of the
relative licences which enable it to penetrate such a huge market, following thorough evaluation of such a competitive market.
Partnerships with GDP provider/s are well being considered to team up with our expertise in sales and marketing.
This further enhances each individual company’s core business to provide a better service primarily to our own suppliers, and last but not least in the
distribution chain, to our end clients. This with maximum efficiency, whilst minimising operational costs.
